Tuesday Truth.
Number 71.

Resilience.
That’s what I’ve recently been learning on this journey of life.
According to this article at the American Psychological Association website, Psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stressβ
In other words, how we “bounce back”.
You may have noticed that my writing has trickled down to my once a month offering of a Tuesday Truth. In all honesty, it took a lot just to show up for that. But it was important to me to honor my commitment to all of you and also to myself.
If you’ve read Tuesday Truth #69 and Tuesday Truth #70 then you are already familiar with the fact that I share most truths as much for my own reminders as well as encouragement for anyone who stumbles upon my words.
There is still a ways to go in my current journey but I feel like there is a beacon of light upon the horizon. It is still dim, but it is there, and I know it will be shining brightly upon my arrival.
Life is filled with chaos and calm.
If you are walking through the chaos, know that you CAN endure it.
Just continue taking one step forward.
Pause.
Rest.
Breathe.
And then take the next step.
When you make it through, pick up that light, turn around and shine it towards the person still trying to make their way along the path.
Remember: You are stronger than you know.
Let your light shine!
Amy
π Good words to live by, Amy!

π
Thanks for this encouraging post.
Iβm so happy to pass on words of encouragement. π
Oh, the times we have encouraged our children through difficult times – against their will sometimes – and they have come out of it smiling.
So true, Jonathan. So true! π
This is so true It has been proven to me several times in the past few months WoW

Folks are looking around. Be the person Laughing
Itβs amazing how much we can truly handle when we are walking through trials.
Beautiful! I needed this today!
Love you girl! Thanks for speaking words of encouragement straight into my soul. And you know Iβm there to speak them when you need them too!
A wonderful and timely quote, Amy. My husband and I were discussing unfair challenges a family member is having to endure. Resilience is huge when travelling through life. I am aware you are posting less frequently, Amy, yet I feel the privacy factor is important, especially in this forum. Exceptionally profound, moving and wise words ββ¦shine it towards the person still trying to make their wayβ¦β Thank you for sharing Beautiful You, Amy.β€οΈ
Iβm sorry to hear that a family is enduring unfair challenges, Erica. That is so hard. Resilience truly is huge when traveling through this life. Thanks so much for your kind words, Erica! π
This past year has been an adventure in learning how resilient I am, we are as a society. Great truth to this idea and one that may have gotten lost during the pandemic. Gotta keep the bounce in your pounce!
It truly has been an adventure in learning to be resilient. Iβm sure weβve all come through this past year changed.
What a very apt quote Amy and so true. Weβre currently in our fourth lockdown and whilst initially it really got me down Iβve realised I can take my power back by finding the blessings in each day. So thank you for the reminder of our resilience. And I hear you about the writing, my posts have trickled too, but thatβs okay. We go with the flow. Sending love and big hugs Amy. xx
I’m so happy that you’ve found a way to take your power back, Miriam! The lockdowns can definitely get you down if you don’t turn towards the things that give you strength, hope and help you see the beauty out there. Sending you much love!! xx
Thank you for sharing this, Amy. I love your Tuesday Truths. They always give me something to reflect on and are often such timely encouraging reminders!
Thank you, Mackenzie!! They are great reminders for me as well. π I hope you are having a fabulous week. xx
