They say the older you get, the quicker time flies.
And I have to say that I agree.
It seems like just yesterday that I was embarking on my year of “this is 40” monthly challenges and yet here I am today having already made it through my 41st year.
As I shared on my Instagram today, 41 was filled with many more challenges and transitions than I expected. Some of those I’ve shared here, some of them belong only to me, and some of them I’m still wading through.
However, through it all I’ve learned that even if the path isn’t clear, you just take the next step. And then the next. And then the next.
And as you also know if you’ve been following along with me over the past year, there’s also definitely been many moments of beauty found in the chaos.
Through it all, there has been growth. The realization that I am strong enough and brave enough to walk through challenges. The realization that shining your light and choosing gratitude in as many moments as you can truly is good for your soul.
I feel really good about 42. I see it shimmering out there on the horizon. Beckoning me to embrace the journey. To flow with the tides of life. To see it for the magic that exists each day.
And today I step onto that path.
Let your light shine!
Amy
Happy Birthday!
Thank you, Jonathan!! 🙂
Happy Birthday!!!
I remember being in my early 40’s.
Thank you!! My mother-in-law told me they were her favorite decade. I’m hoping that holds true for me as well. 🙂
I haven’t heard that saying in awhile, Amy, “trip around the sun.” You strike me as a wise beyond your years, lady:) You also strike me as a “water” lady, therefore “tides of life” is very appropriate. Hard to put into words, Amy. Despite challenges, life gets better and better in many ways. Possibly, I have learned more ways to weather the storms, and always grateful for the lessons. Happy Birthday, Amy xx
Thank you, Erica!! I like to think of myself as a “water” lady so I love to hear that I strike you as that. I have a lot of “earth” which serves its purpose as well, but I’m very much drawn to “water”. 🙂 I think wisdom often comes through those storms and so I am grateful for the lessons as well. xx
Happy Birthday, Amy! I can say my 50’s were pretty great perhaps my best decade to date even, and the 60’s are starting off on the right track.
I hope this is one of the best years of your life.
Thank you, Deborah!! Oh, I love to hear that it gets better and better! 🙂
Happy birthday Amy! I just realized that I am 10 years older than you 😳 Ouch!! 😂
Thank you, Dee Dee!! Lol. I’m often the baby of my friend group. I know how to seek out those that are wiser than me. 😉
Smart!
Well then, a belated Happy Birthday my friend. As long as you have your health, the best is yet to come.
Cheers!
Thank you, Norm!! I’m very happy to have my health and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!! 🙂
Happy birthday… And yes, the time goes quicker the older you get..It is quite amazing. But when we look at the options one can only feel grateful for the distinct privilege of getting older, one that is not afforded to all.
To health, happiness and love… always
Peta
Thank you, Peta!! I feel very grateful to be afforded the privilege of growing older. 🙂
A very Happy Birthday Season to you, Amy – all year long!!
Thank you so much, Pierr!! 🙂
