Tuesday Truth #26

Tuesday Truth.

Number 26.

We reach home in many ways: music, art, desert, forest, sunrise, solitude. Whatever revivifies balance is what is essential. That is home. - Clarissa Pinkola Estes

  1. Internal peace, balance, achieved by harmony which doesn’t happen often…😉 My happy place is up early, alone, solitude while they sleep so I can think and write without inhibitions. 😊

    1. I really wish I had the fortitude to get up before my family. I do have a few hours of silence a few days a week when the house is completely empty. I’m learning to make the best use of that time. 😉

  2. You pose the most interesting questions. The concept of ‘home’ being that ‘place’ where our spirit is renewed is compelling.

Maybe I’m a bit of chameleon. I find peace and balance in many different places – in the forest, near a body of water, most recently playing with art – but it would be easier to say where I don’t feel ‘home’. That would be in loud, noisy places, or with loud, noisy people.

    1. It was definitely a thought-provoking quote.

I do find balance in the forest or by the water. I think that’s why I struggle in the winter. It’s hard for me to deal with the cold and yet I need to be near those things to rejuvenate.

And I much prefer quiet!! 😉

  3. Since the weather has become warmer I have begun to remember the power that is nature! Just being outside truly restores that balance for me <3 There is no more peaceful feeling that sitting on the edge of an ocean, being in a forest, or looking out upon the vastness of a canyon or rolling hills. Thank you for sharing, Amy!

    1. Being outside is so good for the soul!!!! I’m so glad that it’s finally getting warm enough to get out there and soak it all in! I hope you have an amazing weekend Mackenzie! xx

  4. Hi Amy, I think I have told you in past comments. You find amazing Truth quotes to post. They seem to appear at opportune times and resonate with me. Since we have just arrived Home from an amazing adventure in NZ, I have had time to think about the concept of home. Seeing my family and friends and actually feeling the hugs is a big part of being home. We were able to facetime a few times and it was good, just not the same as that hug in real time. As for what revivified balance for me? Quiet time, nature and writing. Great question, Amy!

    1. I’m so glad that you like this series, Erica!! I think family definitely helps define what we consider home. Those are wonderful things to revivify the balance!!! I love them all. 🙂

  5. Beach! I am seriously deficient in beach right now. 😛

Truly, that’s one of the few places that helps rejuvenate and restore my personal sense of balance.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Share them here.
