Day 32

writing hiatus…

has the drought come to an end

i am still not sure

-Amy Lyon Smith

I have been silent for a while. A year and half to be precise. The last words I left here were found in my Tuesday Truth #72. I needed to spend some time taking my own advice. Words to share were devoured by some other universe because I could not find them here. And so I honored that. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever return to this little slice of the internet. And this is a testing of the waters. To see if I have anything to say. My husband shared an article with me: How 17 syllables a day can change your life and I decided take heart and write a haiku each day of 2023. Today is day 32, hence the title of this post…and today’s haiku.

For those who may be wondering about my photo, I’ll just add a tiny catch up. Last we spoke, I was heading into Miss Sunshine’s senior year of high school. I loved watching her make a ton of memories. She finished out her travel soccer career, her high school soccer career, completed her Senior Year Engineering project (a bathroom assistance agent which helped children with special needs at a local elementary school), and applied to Universities to study Civil Engineering.

Guess where she chose?!

Yep. North Carolina State University. Once we became empty nesters, the hubby and I had planned to move to Raleigh for his job. And move we did. We moved to Raleigh this past summer. And Miss Sunshine isn’t too far away. So win-win. It takes a while to build an entirely new life, but I’m working on it. Miss Sunshine has adjusted well to Uni life, even deciding to try out for club soccer this spring semester. Today, the team gave her an offer to join! So I’ll have some more soccer watching in my future.

I hope all is well in your world.

Let your light Shine!

Amy
