Old Town-Kissimmee, Florida

June 30, 2016April 27, 2019by Bedlam & Daisies21 Comments on Old Town-Kissimmee, Florida

It wasn't the first time, and it wouldn't be the last. This was one of my many, many thoughts when the road trip to Florida took many hours longer than I originally planned.  But I made it there and now I've made it back home. Vacation!  Ah....bliss! The first few days after returning home....not so [...]

Purely Captivating

June 13, 2016April 7, 2020by Bedlam & Daisies32 Comments on Purely Captivating

Very little grows on jagged rock.  Be grounded.  Be crumbled so wildflowers will come up where you are. -Rumi The weekly photo challenge this week is "Pure".  The photo could convey wholesomeness, something undiluted, or simplicity.  Since contentment and simplicity are two of my top endeavors this year, I knew that I'd be able to [...]

Change is always happening

May 25, 2016October 30, 2018by Bedlam & Daisies10 Comments on Change is always happening

I've had some thoughts rolling around for awhile, and yet when I put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), they do not flow out cohesively.  I am hoping that today they have found a way to flow with the ease of a river racing to its conclusion. The oldest became an official solo driver [...]

On Titles and Timing

May 9, 2016November 17, 2018by Bedlam & Daisies14 Comments on On Titles and Timing

A Mom seeking her Path in the midst of Chaos and Beauty - Amy Lyon Smith How appropriate that this should be the post I had planned to write last week and today the daily prompt would be chaos.  The original catalyst for the following thoughts is the Weekly Discover Challenge.  The theme this past [...]

A Mother’s Love

May 8, 2016May 8, 2016by Bedlam & Daisies12 Comments on A Mother’s Love

The sun shone brightly On our stroll along the well loved shore We laughed even though there were tears in our hearts My return home, to celebrate her- a life well lived Our rock and wisdom called to her eternal home Days spent recounting memories The dolphin's hello And the ashes flowing A welcoming embrace. [...]

Rusty Doors: A Little Nostalgia

May 5, 2016March 11, 2017by Bedlam & Daisies29 Comments on Rusty Doors: A Little Nostalgia

Admiration: a feeling of wonder, pleasure, or approval. If you've read about how my dad converted a school bus into a home, then you might have guessed that he is a car guy.  If not, here's me letting you know that he's a car guy.  And cars have always been a big part of our [...]

Lyme Disease and Pets

May 4, 2016April 27, 2019by Bedlam & Daisies10 Comments on Lyme Disease and Pets

So I'm sure the title gave away what I'm going to talk about.  I had planned to post about something different in relation to today's daily prompt.  That is, until I finished my yoga class and was walking to my car.  There was this cute little bunny in the parking lot.  Older ones are usually [...]

Childhood Abandoned

May 3, 2016May 3, 2016by Bedlam & Daisies7 Comments on Childhood Abandoned

As I look upon the remnants Of a childhood abandoned I remember the squeals of delight The urging to be pushed higher To have the toes touch the sky Remembering how you never wanted the ride to end I see the yellow earth movers Now covered in weeds That once scooped at the sands Where [...]

The Face Behind the Words

Hey there. I'm Amy.
I'm a wife and a mother of three young adults.
In my earlier years of motherhood, I helped my children pursue their passions. Now I've started focusing on discovering some of my own passions. Travel and photography finding their way to the top. At Bedlam & Daisies, I seek to share with you the beauty that I find in the midst of chaos. I hope you'll come along on this journey of discovery with me.
