Number 21.
I think it’s so easy to fall into the trap of trying to do whatever it takes to be accepted.
I know that I want everyone to like me. And I am a people pleaser by nature. However, humans are a diverse set of creatures and sometimes people aren’t going to love me. I know, I know. It’s hard to believe. But it’s true. And sometimes that drive to please isn’t in alignment with the authenticity of my soul. It can be very draining to live out of alignment.
Do you agree?
Have you ever found yourself making choices that you didn’t really want to make just because that was the popular opinion?
And I’m not talking about those major “make it” or “break it” conversations that get people riled up. I’m talking about the little moments that add up day after day. Or the ones where it’s easier to not have an opinion. Or to not speak your mind.
Perhaps you haven’t.
If so, congratulations. You must be doing an excellent job at always choosing authenticity.
But for those of us who work at staying authentic, but still feel the pull of wanting to be liked even to the detriment of our inner selves, I have a message.
If you listen quietly then you can hear the voice that lets you know when you are not living in authenticity.
Please choose authenticity. You’ll be much happier that you did.
