Tuesday Truth #24

Tuesday Truth.

Number 24.

The useless days will add up to something...These things are your becoming. - Cheryl Strayed

Be sure to check out my website for more motivational quotes.

I thought somebody out there might need to hear this today.

Okay. And I needed to hear this today.

The longer version of the quote gives examples of those useless days. If you haven’t read the quote before, I’d encourage you to read it in its entirety. It is all the moments that are part of your becoming. You may not even recognize how the moments shaped you until you look back and have those “aha” moments that we are sometimes lucky enough to stumble upon.

So enjoy those days that you might see as useless. You are planting and fertilizing and tending and becoming.

Let your light shine!

Amy

  1. I do believe this to be true. All those little moments, all those seemingly minute details along the way surely add up and help to create something incredible. 🙂

  2. Woah, I LOVE this.. I have never thought about “useless” moments as anything but a lack of productivity… but every moment of our existence is part of that “becoming”.. which in a respect is a part of our growth & intrinsically makes each moment important. Thanks for sharing, Amy ! I just love this series.

    1. I’m very productivity oriented, so I really struggle with this one! My husband and I just got back from a quick getaway and while I posted a bit on Instagram, I really just took the time to enjoy the scenery and spend time with him. It was amazing how refreshing it was and how I felt like a grew and realized I need boundaries on my “productivity” or I will never stop. 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoy this series, Mackenzie!! I really enjoy creating it. xx

      1. Ahh totally!! I understand that completely! I’m really glad you enjoyed stepping back for a bit 🙂 it’s alll about perspective isn’t it?!

  3. I love Cheryl Strayed! I received a piece of wonderful advice about writing when reading “Tiny Beautiful Things” that really helped change the way I think. You come up with amazing quotes, Amy, that always resonate with me. I will go back now and read the entire quote. Thank you for sharing

    1. I love what she has to say. I haven’t read “Tiny Beautiful Things”, just snippets. I need to add that one to my list!! I loved “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert when it came to ways of thinking about writing. I’m so glad that you enjoyed this quote Erica!! 🙂

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Share them here.
