I haven’t really disappeared. I was away with the family on spring break. I tried to keep up some with Instagram and little bit with Twitter, but mostly I just enjoyed some down time away from the chaos of my daily life.
We traveled back to Florida and stayed in Jensen Beach. Stuart/Jensen Beach is the area we left in our move to Virginia. It is located on East Coast of Florida between West Palm Beach and Vero Beach. After moving from Naples, Florida, we love that the town feels less crowded. Plus, you can’t surf as well on the Gulf.
We stayed at a great little place River Palm Cottages & Fish Camp. We also stayed there last spring break. They book up fairly quickly and we are not great at pre-planning so we weren’t able to stay there on our trips down last summer or over winter break. In fact, this time there was only one available cottage left.
The grounds are located along the Indian River and some cottages have water views. We ended up in #14 which is a two story 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath. It had a view of the river from the kitchen and the patio. The grounds are very lush and tropical with little pathways amongst some of the plants.
Not only can you walk around admiring the beautiful plants, but there is a ping pong table, a pool, a chickee hut, hammocks, and then there’s the dock and beautiful sand beach along the river.
The cottage we stayed in had one bedroom on the main floor. It had two double beds and its own bathroom with a small shower. I will mention that anyone with youngish children might be a little overwhelmed by the amount of doors on the main floor. They all have deadbolts and the resort feels very safe, but I’m an overprotective mama. However, my babies are not so little. We stayed in cottage #1 last year and there was only the main door and a door out of the master. You enter the cottage #14 from the door under the car port. Upon entering, the bedroom is immediately to your left and the door to the patio right after the bedroom door. Located inside the bedroom are also two doors the exit the house. There is also one other door on the main floor (which is technically the main entrance, but we never used).
Upstairs is the master bedroom which has two queen beds. Our youngest slept up here on the day that my middle son (who was on spring break with a friend about 45 minutes away from us) came up and on the day my mother came over. The bathroom up here has a tub and what I can only call a dressing room. There is a great covered balcony that I whiled down time upon, sipping wine and catching up on my reading challenge (no I haven’t given up on that)
There are TVs and Wi-Fi (sort of a given now days). There is also a coin-operated laundry room, which is great when you have lots of wet, sandy towels and clothes. We spent a lot of the time on the go, sitting on the dock or riverside, or hanging out on the patio grilling up food.
We love the location since it is near to where we used to live and we are able to visit our friends. The resort is located right beside the marina where we used to dock our boat. Sadly, we no longer have a boat. But that doesn’t stop us from having lots of fun adventures when we return. Stay tuned for the fun things that we did in Stuart/Jensen Beach over our spring break!
Let your light shine!
